Marsinah

MArsinahHe is a simple girl born in the village of Nglundo, Nganjuk, East Java. Brought up and completed his education in his hometown. Besides hobbies are reading, Muhammadiyah Nganjuk high school graduates are known as hardworking and fearless. Perhaps because of his courage that makes Marsinah not wilt when driven security guard led the fight for the rights of the workers actions.

Marsinah is an employee of PT. Catur Perkasa Son who was active in labor rallies. Marsinah involvement in these rallies, among others involved in the meeting which discussed the plan a rally on May 2, 1993 in Dike Wind Sidoarjo.

May 3, 1993, the workers prevented his friends work. Sub-District Military Command (Koramil) intervened to prevent the action of local workers.
May 4, 1993, the workers strike their total on 12 charges, including the company must raise the basic wage of Rp 1700 per day to Rp 2250. Fixed allowance of Rp 550 per day they are fighting for and be accepted, including by workers who are absent.

As of May 5, 1993, Marsinah still active with his colleagues in protest activities and negotiations. Marsinah became one of 15 people representative of the employees who conduct negotiations with the company.

At noon on May 5, without Marsinah, 13 workers who are considered inciting protests led to the District Military Command (Kodim) Sidoarjo. In that place they are forced to resign from the CPS. They were accused of holding illegal meetings and prevent employees come to work. Marsinah Kodim Sidoarjo even went to ask the existence of his colleagues who previously called party Kodim. After that, around 10 pm, Marsinah disappeared.

30 September 1993 has been established Bakorstanasda Java Integrated Team to conduct investigations and homicide investigations Marsinah. In court, Yudi Susanto sentenced to 17 years in prison, while a number of other staff who were sentenced to four to 12 year range, but they appeal to the High Court and Yudi Susanto declared free. In 1994, formed the Committee of Solidarity To Marsinah (Kasum). Kasum is a committee established by 10 NGOs. Kasum is an institution dedicated to advocating the murder investigation and labor activist Marsinah by military officials.
